Care+Wear is a fast-paced startup located in the heart of NYC working to ensure each person feels like themselves in the hospital. We were founded in 2014 with a vision to incorporate fashion and innovation into healthwear solutions, striving to improve patient comfort and satisfaction while streamlining the treatment process for clinicians. We’ve been featured in press including the New York Times, Forbes, NPR, and on broadcast around the world. We were named the 4th fastest growing company in America by the Financial Times in 2022 (20th in America by Inc. Magazine in 2021).

We use a comprehensive design thinking approach, working in conjunction with the end users, clinicians and designers to create products that provide the highest quality, function and experience. We partner with a number of foundations and leagues, such as Stand Up 2 Cancer and MLB, and a portion of our profits is donated to our non-profit partners. We partner with brands like Oscar de la Renta and the Natori Company and schools such as Parsons School of Design.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to collaboration in support of the company’s success, an ability to organize and prioritize a fast-growing team’s needs amidst ambiguity and a passion for building and supporting operational success in an exciting moment of growth. This role is all about helping an already successful company take it to the next level and the operations backbone will be key to that success! With that in mind, there are a few key responsibilities Day 1 and a lot of opportunity to grow as we grow.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Operations will be an integral partner and force multiplier from supporting organizational design, implementing business operations in partnership with internal stakeholders, overseeing supply chain, distribution and customer service and helping establish policies that promote company culture and vision.


  • Own end-to-end Customer Operations including:
    • Oversight of our Customer Service team and Voice of the Customer program, a critical channel to understanding what our customers want and need from us as we grow
    • Ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time by spearheading our inventory and demand planning functions
    • Partnering with Product to manage the logistics portion of our supply chain
  • Instill an “automation mindset” across the organization, identifying and implementing the tools, processes and systems to help us scale our D2C, wholesale/retail and B2B businesses
  • Lead companywide goal setting and tracking, helping leaders across the company to unlock the maximum potential of our team and ensure prioritization is aligned with company needs
  • Develop and execute key People Operations infrastructure throughout the entire employee lifecycle to continuously improve our ability to attract and retain our great people; act as our first HR Business Partner and lay the foundation for a great People Operations team
  • Operate as the tip of the spear for key cross-functional projects that need to be sewn together for success and help the team unlock their maximum potential
  • Drive efforts to improve margins, prioritize investments into the business and support long term strategic planning efforts


  • Significant experience in consumer products or fashion is a must
  • Experience helping scale an organization from Seed round through Series B is a major plus as is exposure to business with multiple revenue streams/models (D2C, B2B, retail, etc.)
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing operational strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Ability to see the big picture and understand what it takes to get there
  • Minimal travel as needed
  • Unbelievably positive attitude and a good sense of humor!

How are we managing through the COVID pandemic?

Our primary goal from the beginning of the pandemic has been to ensure employee safety and to do our part in protecting the healthcare community that we play an important role in helping every day. We have implemented several best-in-class safety protocols to ensure our office is a safe and happy place to work and intend to embrace a hybrid work model that allows for 3 days in office, 2 days remote per week. With that in mind, we are looking for candidates that will be based full-time in/around NYC.
