How We Got Started

Care+Wear Co-Founders

Chat: As a child, I was in the hospital often – both as a patient as well as tagging along with my mother, who is an anesthesiologist. Interacting with doctors, nurses, and other patients at such a young age provided me a unique exposure to the patient experience. Years later, when I had a friend and a family member diagnosed with cancer and told to wear tube socks on their arms to cover their PICC lines, I wondered why the products created for patients were so unaesthetically pleasing and thought, “what can I do to help solve this issue?”

Susan: When Chat came to me to help solve the “tube sock” issue, I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to be a part of. After having a close family member pass away from cancer, I had always wanted to make a positive impact but didn’t know how. To me, this felt like the perfect way to combine my fashion background with my desire to help others.

Together, we felt more had to be done to help the millions of people admitted into

hospitals every year. Over the last few years, we have developed products that have not only combined medical function and fashion but also provide both dignity and comfort for everyone.

We are so inspired by the amazing community that we continue to build and feel as though we have only scratched the surface of what we can accomplish.

We are excited to welcome you into the Care+Wear family!
