Since 2008, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C)’s innovative research model has accelerated the pace of cancer research to make cancer patients into long term cancer survivors by bringing more effective treatments to patients at an unparalleled pace. SU2C brings together today’s top scientists to bring new effective treatments to patients and to work toward treatments faster.
While most cancer research has been traditionally done by individual researchers, Stand Up To Cancer's funding model requires leading cancer researchers to collaborate across institutions and disciplines as a part of their “Dream Team” concept. This model encourages researchers to compete against cancer instead of each other. By pooling their knowledge and resources, they’re working together to translate scientific advances into new treatments that can help patients as quickly as possible.
Since its inception, SU2C has raised over $481 million in pledged funds, has had over 1,200 scientists participate in SU2C research, funded over 170 clinical trials, enrolled over 9,000 patients in SU2C supported clinical trials and has collaborated with over 140 institutions. We are proud to collaborate with a leading organization dedicated to cancer awareness, cancer prevention education and research to help more people diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors. RESEARCH
SU2C enables the best and brightest in the cancer research community to work together through their 22 "Dream Teams" and 9 "Translational Research Teams." Driven by the principles of the SU2C model - collaboration, innovation, acceleration, targeted therapy, and translational research - leaders from across disciplines, institutions, countries, and specialties are changing the face of cancer research and pushing the dream of ending cancer closer to reality.
SU2C also provides resources for people with cancer to register with the Clinical Trials Finder, a free and confidential cancer clinical trial matching and referral service operated by EmergingMed. Clinical Trial Navigators are available to guide participants through the search process and notify know them when new trials open that match a specific profile.
